The President thanked partners for the announced steps during the latest "Ramstein" meeting and for other assistance agreed upon this week.
By the end of the first week of September, Ukraine secured new agreements on the supply of ammunition, as well as funding for its own production of weapons, including drones and missiles. However, the delivery of air defense systems by Western partners remains a top priority in the aid Ukraine is counting on.
The President of Ukraine said this in his evening address to Ukrainians on Sunday, September 8.
"We continue to convince our partners on all levels regarding the need for long-range capabilities. Russia can evade seeking peace exactly as much as the world evades making strong decisions to defeat Russia. Long-range capabilities are among those key, strategic decisions," Zelenskyy said.
The President also expressed gratitude to everyone helping Ukraine move toward the "absolutely necessary steps of our partners." Zelenskyy specifically thanked Germany, the U.S., the U.K., Canada, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Romania, Lithuania and Latvia for the announced steps at the latest "Ramstein" meeting and for other aid agreed upon this week.
