The position of the President of Ukraine is to maintain strong bipartisan support from the United States, Stefanishyna said.
US support for Ukraine must remain and continue to be bipartisan regardless of the names in the presidential race.
This opinion was expressed by Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine, Olha Stefanishyna, on Monday, July 22, in Kyiv.
"Regardless of the candidates' names — whether from the Democratic or Republican parties — the primary foundation of the Ukrainian president's position is the maintenance of strong bipartisan support. This must be preserved under all circumstances," she commented.
Stefanishyna also addressed Zelenskyy's decision to initiate communication with former President and presidential candidate Donald Trump even before Biden announced his withdrawal from the race. She called this "an extraordinary display of political maturity and courage."
