Bakhmut defense allows to neutralize "a huge number of terrorists".
During the battles for Bakhmut, the Ukrainian military has neutralized a large number of Russian invaders, as the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksii Danilov said in an interview with Radio Svoboda.
According to him, the decision to continue fighting for Bakhmut was made by Commander-in-Chief Valeriy Zaluzhnyi and Commander of the Land Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi. They confirm the expediency of defending the city.
"We understand that this irritates some people, some think we should give up. But this is our land, and we have no right not to defend it. If our military makes certain decisions, they will be discussed at the Staff, and then we will take certain actions," Oleksii Danilov emphasized.
He also added that Bakhmut remains an important and key point for the Defense Forces.
"At least until the beginning of other military actions, Bakhmut is a very important fortress for us," the Secretary of the National Security Council emphasized.
