One of the architectural landmarks has over 70 windows shattered, and the ceiling collapsed.
As a result of the nighttime attack on Lviv, at least seven architectural landmarks of local significance were damaged.
This was reported by Maksym Kozytskyi, Head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration.
In Lviv, the historical building of the Regional Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation Center was damaged on Konovalets Street. Over 70 windows were shattered, window frames were blown out by the blast wave. The ceiling collapsed in six rooms. Radiators were torn off the walls. Computers and medical equipment were destroyed.
"It’s a great relief that the security guard and the staff of the Center are alive and unharmed," the head of the Regional Military Administration noted.
He added that the rehabilitation center is located in the Villa Josepha Franz, built in 1893, which is a locally significant architectural landmark.
Later, Kozytskyi added that due to the nighttime attack, at least seven architectural landmarks of local significance were damaged in total, including on Konovalets and Kokorudz Streets. All the buildings are located within the historic area and UNESCO buffer zone. They are listed in the State Register of Immovable Landmarks of Ukraine.
"A commission consisting of representatives from the city and regional cultural heritage protection authorities will start working on the sites and drafting inspection reports as soon as emergency services grant access," the head of the Regional Military Administration informed.
