During the last few months, Russia has consistently attacked Ukrainian energy facilities.

Yurii Vitrenko, the Head of NAC “Naftogas-Ukraine” stated that this winter will be “the worst in the history” due to power outages and heat supply interruptions. Russian troops have destroyed almost 40% of energy facilities in the country, as the energy company’s manager said in his interview for Handelsblatt.

According to Vitrenko, almost all oil refineries in the country are now out of operation.

"Since recently, Russia has repeatedly attacked the energy infrastructure of Ukraine, which resulted in power outages in the large part of the country. As for gas industry, Naftogas has managed to maintain performance close to the pre-war level. However, our production capacities continue to suffer from enemy strikes. Many of our employees were killed not at the frontline, but at their workplace", Vitrenko said.

According to him, the company expects frequent power outages and heat supply interruption, since during the last few months, Russia has consistently attacked Ukrainian energy facilities.
