The local budget lacks the funds to restore water and electricity to the affected buildings.
As a result of the Russian strike on Konotop in Sumy region, there are victims, most of whom sustained shrapnel injuries.
Konotop's Mayor, Artem Semenikhin, reported this on the Kyiv24 broadcast.
"Most of the victims suffered shrapnel wounds, except for one person who drove out at night to the areas hit by the strikes to help those affected. A "Shahed" drone hit the area, destroying a section of the tram tracks and damaging a building. Nearby, another building sustained even more severe damage," he said.
According to him, the local budget does not have the resources to restore water supply and electricity in the affected buildings.
"Currently, the city is without electricity. Work is being carried out to restore services. We will have a city council session today. I don't know where we will find the money for reconstruction. We urgently need to allocate funds for the technical inspection of the buildings that were damaged by the fire," Semenikhin added.
