The President says that he is awaiting the world's reaction to the Russian missile strike.

On September 12, Russian forces launched a missile attack on a civilian ship in the Black Sea that was loaded with wheat destined for Egypt.

This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“A Russian missile against a shipment of wheat for Egypt. Today’s strike in the Black Sea was on an ordinary civilian ship just after it left Ukrainian territorial waters. According to preliminary reports, fortunately, there were no human casualties,” - the President said in a statement.

Zelenskyy notes that Ukraine is a key global donor of food security. The normal and unobstructed operation of Ukraine’s export food corridor is crucial for the internal stability and survival of dozens of countries in various parts of the world. In particular, food supplies to Africa and the Middle East are critically important.

The President assures that the country will continue to do everything possible to protect its ports, the Black Sea, and food supplies to the global market.

“We are awaiting the world’s reaction. Wheat and food security should never be targets for missiles,” the President emphasized.
