Zelenskyy named the consequences of the occupation army's blowing up the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the destruction of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant by the Russian terrorist army during the "Bucharest Nine" summit. He emphasized that Russia had detonated a bomb of mass environmental damage.

This is stated in Zelenskyy's address.

The President of Ukraine noted that Russian terrorists blew up the Kakhovka HPP on June 6 at 2:50 a.m. This was a planned and controlled explosion. The volume of the reservoir held by this dam is one of the largest reservoirs in Ukraine.

Zelenskyy said that due to the crime of Russian terrorists, the southern regions of Ukraine, where 100,000 Ukrainians lived before the start of the full-scale war, are now being flooded. 80 cities and villages went under water.

"The Kakhovka reservoir was a source of drinking water for millions of people. Now, instead of a water pipeline, there is only water delivery. Just imagine: for cities with tens and hundreds of thousands of people. The Kakhovka reservoir was also a source of water for farming and agricultural production. Vast areas are now without irrigation. And it is currently difficult to determine the consequences for the surrounding natural environment... Russia has detonated a bomb of mass environmental damage. And this is a real ecocide!", the President of Ukraine emphasized.

Zelenskyy emphasized that the Russian occupation army has been controlling the territory of Kakhovka HPP for almost a year. The terrorists deliberately mined the facility and blew it up.

"And it is physically impossible to blow it up somehow from the outside, with shelling. It was mined. It was mined by the Russian occupiers. And it was blown up by them. And this once again demonstrates with what cynicism Russia treats the people whose land it seized, and what Russia actually brings to Europe and the world. This is the biggest man-made environmental disaster in Europe in decades. And it is the most dangerous terrorist in the world.

Therefore, the defeat of Russia, which we will ensure anyway, will be the most significant contribution to the security of our region, our Europe and the whole world," the President said.
