The situation around the city of Kurakhove in Donetsk region is deteriorating as Russian forces intensify efforts to reach the logistical routes of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

Analysts of the DeepState project report this.

Russian troops are attempting to "encircle the city" by advancing from multiple flanks. According to the analysts, the invaders are assaulting Ukrainian positions from the north, south, and east.

“The northern and southern parts are targeted for flanking maneuvers around the city, where the enemy aims to gain at least fire control over the N15 highway (Zaporizhzhia-Donetsk) and enough of it to disrupt any movement. From the south, they are advancing along the direction of Yasna Polyana-Maksymivka-Trudove, where, despite steady pressure and losses, they continue to make progress,” DeepState reports.

In the northern area around Kurakhove, Russian forces are concentrating efforts on the village of Sontsivka. While the invaders managed to enter the village, Ukrainian forces are currently eliminating the enemy infantry. Additionally, Russian forces are actively attempting to reach the settlements of Berestky and Stari Terny, and their eastern assault is also seeing some success.

“Simultaneously, an unfavorable situation is developing in the "pocket" around the settlements of Antonivka-Katerynivka-Yelyzavetivka. Russian forces have increased their activity and are persistently advancing on Ukrainian positions. If they reach the N15 highway, this area will become the most dangerous to stay in. Under these conditions, the loss of control over Kurakhove appears to be only a matter of time,” the analysts add.
