The Russian occupying army has launched the third wave of its offensive on Avdiivka in Donetsk region. The troops of the Russian Federation do not stop their assaults.
Vitaliy Barabash, Head of the Avdiivka City Military Administration, reported this on the air of the telethon.
"They (the occupiers - Ed.) are coming from all directions: from the flanks, from the south, from the north - as they did before. They are coming into the industrial zone, and they are trying to carry out certain assault actions from the Donetsk side through Spartak (a village near Avdiivka - Ed.). They're coming from all sides. They heavily employ infantry. Vehicles have moved into the industrial zone. There's asphalt there. It's damaged, destroyed, but at least there's a solid foundation. They deploy vehicles there," Barabash reported.
According to him, the third wave of the Russian army's assault differs from the first and second. Specifically, the difference lies in the fact that previously, the invaders moved in columns.
"The first wave - they marched almost like in a parade. The second - they divided the columns and attempted to advance from at least three directions. Now they've opened a fourth direction - from Donetsk's side - from Spartak. Plus, they added the industrial zone. They're trying to stretch more along the front line."
Barabash noted that currently, weather conditions are limiting the enemy's use of heavy machinery. However, he predicts that Russia will significantly increase its usage.
Russian aviation is highly active in this segment of the front. The enemy is dropping GABs. Moreover, over the past few days, the occupiers have increased the use of cluster bombs. The Russian army inflicts dozens of airstrikes and the city is being heavily shelled 30-40 times a day.
"They don’t use cluster munitions within the city. They focus more on positions around the city. Within the city, they use GABs. Most commonly, they use GABs of "KAB-500" type. On average, between 8 to 20 airstrikes per day hit the city," the Head of the Military Administration said.
