The musician was reminded of the horrors that Russia is committing on the territory of Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reacted to the praise given by Jared Leto, the leader of the American band Thirty Seconds to Mars, to Russians and his promises to perform concerts in Russia.
The Ministry considers such statements offensive, especially when innocent people are suffering from Russia's actions, sacrificing their lives daily for peace. The artist was reminded that Russia is a terrorist country that attacked Ukraine, destroys cities and villages, and commits atrocities on Ukrainian soil.
Jared Leto, who "felt Russian energy," was made aware of what this really means. In particular, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs posted a video on the social network X (formerly Twitter), showing the aftermath of enemy shelling, destroyed homes, and dead civilians, including those whose lives were taken during the occupation.
Jared Leto’s "feeling of Russian energy" and his desire to perform in Russia is an insult to those who are sacrificing their lives to defend freedom. There can be no appeasement of Russia while it continues to try to solve the "problem" of Ukraine's existence," the musician was admonished.
