The Russian army struck Ukraine with missiles and "Shaheds": how many targets were shot down by air defense

Explosions were heard in several regions overnight.

On the night of August 13, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with two guided aviation missiles, Kh-59/69, and 38 Shahed strike drones. Air defense forces destroyed 17 UAVs.

This was reported by the Commander of the Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk.

The occupiers launched Kh-59/69 missiles from the airspace over the Belgorod region, and the UAVs from the areas of Chauda in the annexed Crimea, Yeysk and Kursk.

"17 enemy UAVs were shot down in Mykolaiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, Kharkiv and Zhytomyr regions," the statement reads.
