Russian forces have committed another war crime by executing unarmed Ukrainian prisoners of war on the Pokrovsk front.
According to the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, six captured Ukrainian soldiers were executed by the Russian occupiers.
"Under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, preliminary investigations have been initiated concerning war crimes that led to the deaths of prisoners of war (Part 2, Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the prosecutor's statement reads.
It was reported that on October 23, 2024, during an advance on the city of Selydove, Russian forces captured three Ukrainian soldiers. Shortly afterward, these unarmed prisoners were executed by the occupiers.
On November 1, during another assault on Ukrainian fortified positions on the same Pokrovsk front, Russian servicemen killed three more prisoners with automatic weapons.
