The occupiers plan to seize Toretsk.
Russian forces are preparing for another battle to capture Toretsk, amassing troops and deploying new units, according to the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The city is partially controlled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but assaults on Toretsk’s neighborhoods continue daily.
This information was shared in a report by TSN special correspondent Yulia Kyryienko.
Ukrainian artillery units are targeting Russian infantry attempting to advance on Toretsk. According to the soldiers, they have sufficient ammunition, particularly for the artillery piece covering a significant front section.
"We are supplied with a lot, because we have a large sector to cover, and this gun has a wide range," says soldier Vadym Artemchuk. Ukrainian defenders are fighting with a captured Russian MSTA howitzer. When their brigade was in the Pokrovsk direction, they fired almost 150 rounds per day - an intense rate for this type of weapon. Although the fighting here is less intense, they are preparing to defend Toretsk, and Ukrainian forces report that the Russians are gathering strength for another assault on the city. In the summer, Ukrainian units, including the 100th Brigade, successfully repelled attacks. Toretsk remains partially under Ukrainian Defense Forces’ control.
For Russian forces, Toretsk is a strategic objective for advancing toward a cluster of Ukrainian cities: Kostyantynivka, Druzhkivka, and Kramatorsk. To hold Toretsk, Ukrainian defenders are focused on reinforcing their personnel and equipment. This is the main thing for defense, the soldiers say. They are particularly impressed by the sight of American "Bradley" infantry fighting vehicles on the front lines, which allow for safer troop transport amid numerous FPV drones. The "Bradley" is capable of penetrating even Russian tank armor.
Currently, the front line near Toretsk remains static, indicating that, although fighting here is somewhat less intense than in nearby sectors, clashes still occur daily. Artillery teams are reloading, prepared to shield the valuable infantry in their trenches from Russian assaults.
