Ukraine has received €4.2 billion from the European Union as part of the Ukraine Facility program. This financial assistance is part of the overall support the EU is providing to Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression.
This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.
According to him, the funds will be directed towards social programs, the humanitarian sector, and other important budgetary areas. At the same time he says that Ukraine continues to finance military expenditures exclusively from its own resources.
"Since the beginning of the year, the EU has provided Ukraine with more than €12 billion in budgetary support," Shmyhal noted, highlighting the importance of this aid for the stability of Ukraine's budget.
The Prime Minister also mentioned that Ukraine is continuing to implement reforms that are crucial for the resilience, development and future of the country. These efforts are supported by European partners.
Ukraine expects to receive another tranche of aid from the European Union by the end of this year.
"We thank the EU for its solidarity with Ukraine in our fight for freedom and independence," Denys Shmyhal concluded.
