Putin tried to preemptively cut off any retreat routes.

With his ultimatum regarding the war in Ukraine, Putin has "cut off" retreat routes for himself and his closest circle. His demands on Kyiv were primarily aimed at "Chinese ears."

This view was expressed by political analyst Vadym Denysenko in an exclusive interview with TSN.ua.

"Putin, in this case, was not appealing to the summit in Switzerland... He was primarily appealing to the People's Republic of China, which had already announced at that time that they planned to actively engage in the so-called peace process and intended to start making certain moves to create a so-called peace coalition. Actually, Putin understands that the only country in the world that has the capacity to exert sufficient pressure on Russia is China. Therefore, he tried to preemptively cut off certain retreat routes," the political analyst noted.

According to Vadym Denysenko, this move will not help Putin, but it is crucial to understand the logic, the Kremlin dictator followed when making his ultimatum statement.
