The leaders of the two countries discussed several areas of cooperation, including the work of the drone coalition and the preparation of a conference on the liberation of prisoners and deported persons.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy urged Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to "enhance advocacy among partners" for granting Ukraine permission and the necessary weaponry to strike military targets on Russian territory.
The Head of State shared this information on his Telegram channel.
The President also provided details of the phone conversation regarding other areas of Ukraine-Canada cooperation.
"I had a phone conversation with Justin Trudeau. We discussed the continuation of defense cooperation between Ukraine and Canada. I talked about the current needs of our Defense Forces, including additional air defense systems and armored vehicles. We also focused on joint work within the drone coalition and the implementation of the bilateral security agreement signed on February 24 of this year," Zelenskyy reported.
The President added that at the end of the conversation, they discussed the preparation of a thematic conference on the "Release of prisoners and deported persons" point of the Peace Formula, which is planned to be held in Canada.
