The President of Ukraine hopes to reach a consensus on the issue of using long-range weapons deep into Russia at the UN General Assembly.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy intends to meet with U.S. President Joe Biden during the United Nations General Assembly in September.
Zelenskyy mentioned this in a comment to a journalist from 1+1 during a national telethon on September 7.
"If the situation in the country allows me to attend the General Assembly in September, we will summarize the results of all previous meetings with President Joe Biden. I am really hoping for positive outcomes... So far, there is no consensus on the use of long-range weapons on Russian territory, but in such decisions, to be honest, I remember working on the use of certain weapons on the territory of the temporarily occupied Crimea, and there was no consensus then either. It’s important to find a key to at least one country, and others may follow. I am counting on that," Zelenskyy noted.
