Throughout 2025 and since the beginning of this year, Russian forces have carried out significantly more attacks using ballistic missiles. The trend has been continuing for some time.
Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Department of the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, said this during a national television broadcast.
According to Ihnat, data on the increased use of ballistic missiles were published on important dates, including the fourth anniversary of the full-scale invasion and during the year-end summary, showing a rise in ballistic missile use in 2025–2026.
This winter, he said, about 15 attacks were recorded in which the use of ballistic missiles increased significantly.
“There were about 15 of them over the winter (mass attacks — Ed.). The use of ballistic missiles has increased significantly… This is a trend that has been going on for a long time,” Ihnat said.
