Expert warns of Russia stockpiling «Shaheds,» but not for Ukraine
An expert believes Russia is stockpiling drones to pressure Europe.
An expert reveals real reason behind Russia’s stockpiling of upgraded "Shaheds"
Russia is reportedly amassing “Shahed” strike drones to threaten Europe.
This view was expressed by aviation expert Kostyantyn Kryvolap, according to Kyiv 24.
Overall, he said, Russia is currently relying primarily on Shahed drones to strike Ukraine, while it has begun drawing on its missile reserves.
“The main blows are still delivered by "Shaheds." For example, 50 "Shaheds" carry 2.5 tons of explosives. You can’t compare the 2022-era "Shaheds," simple drones that flew according to coordinates, with the more advanced "Shaheds" available now,” he said.
According to the expert, “Shaheds” are already being used for reconnaissance.
“We saw the situation in Chernihiv region, when one "Shahed" was shot down by our mobile fire group, but the next "Shahed" targeted the vehicle where our team was operating — thankfully, they managed to escape in time. The Russians are adapting; they are trying to strike us as effectively as possible,” Kryvolap said.
The expert suggests that Russia is stockpiling “Shaheds,” but not for strikes against Ukraine.
“The Russians are stockpiling "Shaheds," and I don’t think it’s for us. They already have enough. They have reached numbers sufficient to strike us, and there is speculation that these "Shaheds" are being accumulated specifically for Europe, to threaten it. We’ll see how Europe responds. So far, the Russians have managed to reach Europe and remain largely unpunished,” the aviation expert noted.
