Ukrainian forces fully control the northern and central areas of Myrnohrad in Donetsk region. Despite repeated enemy attempts to penetrate the city, the situation remains under Defense Forces’ control.

This was reported on January 1 by Sergeant Serhii Okishev, communications officer of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Air Assault Forces, during the “United News” TV marathon.

He said Russian troops are attempting to advance on Myrnohrad from multiple directions. Their main tactic involves small-group infiltration, including into the city center. These attempts are detected and stopped promptly.

“The enemy is trying to enter in small groups, but they are promptly detected and eliminated — both using drones and in direct firefights. Artillery is also being actively deployed,” Okishev said.

The 7th Air Assault Corps stresses that the northern and central areas of Myrnohrad remain fully under Ukrainian control.

The military also reported a stabilization of the situation near the village of Hryshyne. According to Okishev, the enemy continues attacks but suffers losses even before reaching the settlement.

Ukrainian aerial reconnaissance, strike drones, and other Defense Forces units are effectively destroying enemy assault groups before they can develop an offensive.
