In the early hours of June 17, 2025, one of Odesa’s oldest medical institutions, the City Infectious Disease Hospital, sustained damage due to an enemy attack.
This was reported by Odesa Mayor Hennadii Trukhanov on Telegram.
According to him, over 100 windows and doors were shattered across four buildings of the hospital. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries among patients or medical staff.
Of particular concern is the fact that the hospital’s grounds include a nationally significant architectural and historical landmark — a building where the renowned physician and scientist Mykola Pirogov once worked.
City services are currently working promptly to eliminate the aftermath of the attack. The hospital’s newer buildings continue to operate normally.
Authorities are urging residents to stay in shelters during air raid alerts and to follow safety protocols.
