Conditions in the Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad areas remain extremely difficult and essentially critical.

Ihor Romanenko, a military expert, said in an interview with Glavred.

He explained that these two cities in Donetsk region are closely linked in terms of combat operations and logistical support.

“The role of Ukraine’s Defense Forces stationed in the northern part of the agglomeration is to provide logistical support to the units operating in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad,” Romanenko stressed.

According to him, due to increased pressure from occupying forces in the south of Myrnohrad, Ukrainian units were compelled to fall back to more northern lines, closer to the city center, because areas that were recently a “grey zone” are now effectively surrounded.

“The most difficult situation is in Myrnohrad,” the expert stressed.

Accordingly, logistical support for Defense Forces units is being provided primarily through heavy drones and other limited capabilities still available to the military.

According to Romanenko, discussions are currently ongoing on how to withdraw Ukrainian units from Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk with minimal losses.
