Putin can win the war only under one condition — Zelenskyy names it

Putin’s true goal is not victory, but a prolonged war without sanctions, which would allow him to retain power.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy states that Vladimir Putin has no real chance of winning the war against Ukraine if the West maintains unity and support for Kyiv.

Zelenskyy shared this in an interview with ABC News.

At the same time, the Head of State warned that Putin’s true goal is not «victory, ” but a prolonged war that would enable him to hold onto power in Russia until his death.

«This is not a victory when you lose millions of people for a few thousand kilometers. It’s an initiative, but not a victory. And I told this to Trump, ” Zelenskyy emphasized in the interview.

The President stressed that Putin could win only if the West abandons its support for Ukraine.

«Of course, if the U.S. and Europe stop their support, then they could win. But I want to remind you: even without all the partners, it was difficult for them to occupy us at the beginning of the war. If the world is united and on our side, it’s impossible, ” he said.

Zelenskyy is convinced that Putin’s main bet is on a prolonged war and the gradual lifting of sanctions.

«He can win only if there is a very long war — many years — and without sanctions. That’s what he really wants. He needs money for this war. He wants to sit in the Kremlin until his death. That’s why he wants to occupy and destroy us.»

The President also emphasized that the West was late in imposing energy restrictions on Russia.

«We lost three years. They could have imposed restrictions on oil long ago — $30 per barrel. But we gave them that money. They sold energy resources to China, India, Brazil…»

Zelenskyy recalled that it was thanks to the import of components and technologies from the West that Russia was able to produce a large number of missiles.

«Let’s be honest: without products from American, Taiwanese, Chinese, and some European companies, Putin would not have been able to produce such a quantity of missiles, ” the President concluded.
