Russian forces no longer receive orders to assault and hold positions. Their goal is to advance chaotically, infiltrate rear areas, and disrupt Ukrainian Armed Forces logistics despite heavy losses.

On the front lines, Russian troops have altered their tactics—moving away from attempts to storm and secure positions, they now push forward to create «grey zones» and sow chaos in Ukrainian defenses.

This was stated by Yevheniy Yeryomenko, call sign «Teacher,» Chief of Staff of the KRAKEN 1654 Unmanned Systems Regiment of the Third Army Corps, during a broadcast on Kyiv24.

«Despite significant losses, the enemy doesn’t stop. To capture one or two of our positions, the Russians may lose up to a company of personnel,» Yeryomenko says.

The serviceman explains that the Russians operate in small groups, often just a few individuals or even lone fighters, aiming to slip into the rear of Ukrainian positions.

«They don’t have orders to storm and hold. Their only command is to move forward, infiltrate the rear, set up ambushes, and disrupt logistics. This creates an effect of constant activity along the line of contact,» the fighter added.

According to the KRAKEN unit representative, this enemy tactic complicates the work of Ukrainian defenders, forcing them to constantly respond to small groups attempting to disorganize their defenses.
