The situation in the south remains difficult, as the enemy escalates attacks and assaults daily.
This was stated by Colonel Vladyslav Voloshin, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces, on the air of the telethon on May 6.
“They conduct these with small infantry groups, but quite intensively — especially in the area of Novopavlivka. Over the past day, the enemy engaged in more than 20 such clashes, and today — over 15,” Voloshin noted.
According to him, the enemy is trying to break through to the administrative border from the south of Dnipropetrovsk region, putting in significant efforts to breach the defense line.
“The enemy has concentrated a large number of forces and resources. They are currently conducting assault operations. This involves about four regiments. Their units are now carrying out assaults on the Novopavlivka direction,” Voloshin added.
