The Kursk operation has achieved most of its objectives. Thanks to our active actions in the region, we have managed to prevent the enemy from launching an offensive campaign in Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

This was stated by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

«The buffer zone created by Ukraine’s Defense Forces in the border areas remains relevant to this day,» he emphasized.

Results of the Kursk Operation

As Syrskyi highlights, an enemy with numerical superiority can only be defeated through unconventional maneuvers. The Kursk operation was exactly that — a surprise for the enemy.

«Ukraine has shown that it is capable of counterattacking, striking, and driving the enemy back, even on their own territory. This became possible thanks to specific military units and specific soldiers — true heroes of the Ukrainian army,» Syrskyi noted.

One of the units that effectively and efficiently fulfilled its tasks in Kursk region is the 225th Separate Assault Regiment. It plays a key role when we talk about successful active defense in northern Ukraine and the border areas of the Russian Federation.

«I had the pleasure of speaking with its soldiers and commanders and presenting them with high state and departmental combat awards — for exemplary resilience, courage, and heroism,» the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.

It should be noted that Russian military bloggers are reporting that Ukrainian forces are advancing in Kursk region.

«Ukrainian troops have begun an offensive in Kursk region. Russian military bloggers are reporting this,» said MP Oleksiy Honcharenko.
