Putin’s constant nuclear rhetoric reflects his psychological dependence on warfare and desire to keep the world in fear.

This view was expressed by Mykhailo Podolyak, Adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

«Like any primitive and predictable autocrat, subject Putin is endlessly obsessed with weapons — nuclear warheads, the Topol, the Sarmat, the Burevestnik, the Poseidon. Every one of his thoughts is about how many more people he will kill, what he will seize, whom he will deport, ” Podolyak said.

According to him, the Russian dictator has a «hyperfixation on war as the only source of competitiveness, ” which makes rational negotiations with him pointless.

«A person with a severe personality disorder cannot remain within rational boundaries. What’s needed here is either a specific form of psychocorrection or — in our case — unconditional isolation, ” the adviser stressed.

Podolyak emphasizes that the only effective way to influence the Kremlin is through economic isolation and by cutting off Russia’s access to resources.

«We need to defat and immobilize the system — cut it off from financial markets, from the ability to sell oil, from smuggling schemes to purchase components for Kalibr and Iskander missiles. Unfortunately, up to 70% of the electronics in Russian missiles are of European or American origin. This access must be immediately blocked, ” he said.

He concluded that the process of «defatting Russia» must be significantly accelerated to halt its war machine.
