DTEK CEO explains why this winter has been the hardest for Ukraine’s energy system
DTEK Chief Executive Officer Maxim Timchenko explained how this winter differs from previous ones.
He was speaking to the U.S. outlet Politico.
“They are using everything they have, trying to destroy the energy infrastructure — ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as all types of drones,” he said.
Timchenko added that this winter is different from previous ones. Alongside the use of a wide range of weapons, the situation is being worsened by constant attacks on power plants and substations, which makes repairs more difficult.
Earlier, speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Timchenko called on the world to help Ukraine’s energy system following Russia’s latest attack on January 20.
