Volodymyr Zelenskyy revealed what Putin fears and named the "most powerful weapon" against Russia.

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is afraid of Ukraine’s success in every sense of the word. The Kremlin fears that Russians might start taking inspiration from a free and democratic Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy shared these insights in an interview with Le Point.

At the same time, Zelenskyy stated that the unity of partners is the "most powerful weapon," as the war has already demonstrated in practice.

Putin fears not NATO, but a successful Ukraine

According to the Ukrainian President, Russian dictator Putin is afraid that Ukraine will genuinely join the European Union and become a successful country. The Head of State emphasized that this is not about institutions but about the absence of borders between Ukraine and EU countries.

"In Ukraine, people are already free, and Putin doesn’t like that — it’s true. Because his people could take Ukraine as an example. Of course, not all Russians, but if one person sets an example, it can inspire others," Zelenskyy said.

The President also said that Russia’s demand that Ukraine not join NATO only confirms that Putin dislikes seeing Ukraine succeed. Zelenskyy stressed that the war has shown that the most powerful weapon is unity.

"I am grateful to our partners for the unity we have managed to maintain. Today, we don’t need an alternative to this unity but its continuation. The logical continuation is security guarantees for Ukraine. The first of these guarantees is a strong Ukrainian army. The strength of our army relies on military and financial support to create high-tech weapons in Ukraine. The second part is the security guarantees provided by our partners — what they are ready to do for Ukraine. And not just financially," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
