Another Russian attack in the coming days? Expert explains what to expect

Monitoring groups are warning of a possible large-scale missile strike on Ukraine in the near future.

Russian attack

If Russia goes for one and a half to two weeks without launching missile strikes against Ukraine, it could indicate that Moscow is stockpiling weapons and preparing for another massive attack.

This was stated by Oleksii Hetman, a retired major and veteran of the Russia-Ukraine war, in comments to UNIAN, addressing reports by the "eRadar" monitoring channel about a possible strike in the coming days.

“Russia continues to carry out large-scale missile and drone attacks against us. Recently, Kyiv has been the main target of these strikes. This may be seen as a response to our attacks on Moscow, although there could be other reasons behind it,” he said.

According to Hetman, Ukraine has struck critical facilities inside Russian territory that severely impact the Russians' capability to execute missile attacks. Furthermore, relay stations in Belarus that used to guide Shahed drones and cruise missiles have ceased operations.

"Therefore, as to whether we should expect a mass missile strike: once they repair and adjust everything, we obviously should expect one," Hetman said, while urging the public to heed official warnings from the authorities.

Notably, the "eRadar" monitoring channel reported that "a massive missile strike is highly likely to occur today or tomorrow." Specifically, according to their data, Russia has readied eight Tu-95MS bombers, two to three Tu-160 bombers, up to 10 Zircon hypersonic cruise missiles, and up to 30 Iskander-M/S-400/KN-23 ballistic missiles. The monitors identified Kyiv and its region, as well as the western oblasts, as Russia's priority targets.
