Casualties rise after Russian attack on Poltava

A Russian strike on the Poltava district has left two people dead and more than 10 injured.

Two people have been confirmed dead and the number of injured has risen after a Russian attack on the Poltava district on June 20, Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration Vitalii Diakivnych said.

According to updated information, the enemy struck two industrial sites. The facilities, vehicles, and nearby residential buildings sustained significant damage. The attack also damaged infrastructure and disrupted power supplies in the area.

"Yesterday, the enemy attacked the Poltava district, hitting the territory of two enterprises. The company buildings, vehicles, and adjacent residential houses were damaged," Vitalii Diakivnych said.
According to him, rescue workers recovered one body from under the rubble, while another victim passed away in the hospital.

"The number of injured has risen to 13 people, including six children. Unfortunately, a body was found under the rubble. Another person died in the hospital. My sincere condolences to their families and loved ones," Diakivnych stated.

The attack also triggered an emergency power shutdown in the district. Energy teams are currently working to restore the electricity supply.
