Pokrovsk holds out, but commanders must make choice
Defenders of the city face problems with weapons and supply deliveries, evacuating the wounded, and rotating personnel.

The Russian occupying forces have still failed to capture Pokrovsk, but they have cut off the city’s logistics routes. Commanders now face a decision — to continue the defence with fresh forces or to withdraw units from the city.
Colonel Roman Chervinsky, an SSU counterintelligence officer, said this in a comment to the Kyiv24 TV channel.
“We see that Pokrovsk has indeed held out, but due to the enemy’s flanking attacks and manoeuvres, they have achieved their goal — they’ve cut off our logistics. Our units are now almost in operational encirclement,” he said.
According to Chervinsky, the city’s defenders are struggling with shortages of weapons and supplies, as well as difficulties evacuating the wounded and rotating troops.
He said commanders, aware of the operational situation known only to them, must quickly decide whether to withdraw exhausted units or reinforce the city's defence with fresh troops and equipment.
