Russia attacks regional center: «Shahed» drones hit apartments, infrastructure targeted, one killed

Overnight into Friday, February 13, Russian forces attacked Odesa with strike drones. Damage was recorded in two districts of the city, and one person was killed.

This was reported by Serhiy Lysak, Head of the Odesa City Military Administration.

«There were hits on two multi-storey residential buildings. Apartments on the upper floors were damaged, ” the official said.

Civilian infrastructure facilities and a car service station were also damaged. The blast wave broke windows at a kindergarten and a gymnasium.

The aftermath of the attack

Oleh Kiper, Head of the Odesa Regional Military Administration, said two «Shahed» drones hit apartments in two residential buildings. Hits and falling UAV debris were recorded in Odesa at a car dealership and a sanatorium.

He said Russian occupying forces targeted port, residential, industrial and energy infrastructure facilities in the Odesa region. Fertiliser warehouses at the port were damaged, while passenger cars and freight rail wagons caught fire.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine said rescuers worked overnight in extremely difficult conditions, dealing with the aftermath of strikes and fires simultaneously in several districts. Energy, port, residential and industrial infrastructure sustained damage.

«Large fires broke out at a car dealership, where flames spread across 2,000 square metres. Nearby parked cars, garage units with vehicles and an energy facility that suffered significant damage were burning, ” the statement said.

Casualties

Oleh Kiper said one person was killed in the overnight attack on the Odesa region and six people were injured. Doctors say three of the injured are in serious condition.

The emergency service said there were no casualties from strikes on residential areas of Odesa.
