Russian army strikes dormitory in Kharkiv: Details

Russia attacks Kharkiv on the first day of spring, with a strike hitting a hostel.

On the morning of March 1, Russian troops struck a dormitory in the city. A fire broke out and people are being evacuated.

“An enemy drone hit a dormitory in the Shevchenkivskyi district. A fire broke out at the impact site and evacuations are under way,” he said.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synehubov said the strike damaged the technical floor of the dormitory.

Three women aged 75, 53 and 69 suffered acute stress reactions following the drone attack in the Shevchenkivskyi district, he said.

Emergency crews are working at the scene and medics remain on standby.

Drones targeted Kharkiv throughout the morning of March 1. Strikes were reported near the boundary of the Kyivskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts and in Saltivskyi district. An administrative building and a park were hit, and windows were blown out in nearby homes.
