Humanitarian mission vehicle struck by a Russian drone

On Saturday, 8 November, a Russian drone struck a vehicle belonging to the “Proliska” humanitarian mission as it entered the town of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region. Alongside volunteers, the vehicle was carrying journalists from Spain and Austria.

The incident was reported by Yevhen Tkachov, head of the Proliska mission in Donetsk region, in a comment to Suspilne.

According to Tkachov, despite visible humanitarian markings on the vehicle, Russian forces carried out a deliberate drone strike.

At the moment of the attack, four people were inside: volunteer Yevhen Tkachov, chaplain Oleh Tkachenko, and two foreign journalists from Austria and Spain. All escaped unharmed.

Tkachov added that the vehicle was probably hit by a fibre-optic-guided FPV drone carrying an RPG-shaped charge, which burned straight through the car.

According to ORF outlet, the Proliska vehicle was carrying Austrian journalist Christian Wehrschütz, who, together with a Spanish colleague, was working on a report about civilian evacuations from the front-line city of Kostiantynivka.
