Strikes on energy infrastructure: Zelenskyy details attacks

Missile strike on Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff, where he received reports on the protection and restoration of Ukrainian energy facilities targeted by the Russian terrorist army.
He announced this in his evening address on Friday, October 3.
Zelenskyy recalled the overnight strike by Russian terrorists on Ukraine’s gas infrastructure.
“Just ahead of the heating season, the Russians are looking for ways to inflict more harm on our people,” he stressed.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that during the strike on gas facilities in the night of October 3 the enemy used 35 missiles, including ballistic ones. Only half of them were shot down.
“The situation remains difficult in the Chernihiv region after drone strikes – in Slavutych, in Nizhyn, and also in Chernihiv itself. And in the Sumy region. In the evening, there was a ballistic strike in the Donetsk region – again targeting energy infrastructure. Kramatorsk, Slovyansk, Druzhkivka. Recovery efforts are underway,” the President gave details.
According to him, all people who need support must receive it.
“This is the direct responsibility of local leaders: from regional authorities to each city and each community. Resources for that assistance are available,” Zelenskyy assured.
Counterstrikes
During today’s Staff meeting, the Ukrainian President also heard reports on strikes against Russian targets—on logistics and fuel complexes.
“I am grateful to our warriors for their precision. Russia chooses war, Russia destroys our people’s lives, and must be held accountable – our long-range capabilities will increase,” he promised.
Zelenskyy emphasised that as a result of attacks by Ukrainian drones the “gas-station country,” as Russia is called, has been forced to import petrol, including from China and Belarus.
“These are the right results produced by the Security Service of Ukraine, our Armed Forces of Ukraine, our intelligence agencies, and our Ukrainian arms manufacturers. We are now formulating the details of decisions – serious ones – on joint weapons production with our partners, those who contribute the most. Concrete projects, concrete benefits for our defense. In the future, there will also be productions localized in Ukraine. Productions that help protect our skies,” the President said.
