Ukrainian cities at risk of heating problems: Energy expert

The main risks persist in regions that traditionally struggle with heat supply — Kryvyi Rih, Chernihiv and Odesa.

Ukraine is gradually seeing fewer cities with centralised heating as more communities switch to individual systems.

This was stated by energy expert Hennadiy Riabtsev during the «Vechir.LIVE» broadcast.

In his view, the highest risks persist in areas historically vulnerable to heating disruptions — specifically Kryvyi Rih, Chernihiv, and Odesa.

«These cities have historically remained the most vulnerable in terms of stable heat supply, ” Riabtsev said.

The expert stresses that the government is currently preparing a decision to simplify the installation of individual heating points.

However, he said, this process needs to be accelerated so households can independently provide heating without relying on centralised systems.
