Russia’s military overnight into January 13 carried out another wave of missile and drone attacks targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure across multiple regions, causing damage to residential and civilian facilities.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said:
«Once again, the main target was our energy sector — generation and substations. There is significant damage to residential and civilian infrastructure. The Dnipropetrovsk, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv and Donetsk regions were under attack.»
He added that Russian missiles struck a postal terminal in Korotych in the Kharkiv region, where four people were killed.
The president stressed that the situation in the Kyiv region remains difficult. Several hundred thousand families are still without electricity, while «Invincibility Points» are operating in affected communities.
«Every such strike against life is a reminder that support for Ukraine must not stop. Missiles for air defence systems are needed every single day, especially in winter. The world can respond to this terror with new aid packages. We expect faster deliveries of what has already been agreed with the United States and Europe. Russia must understand that cold will not help it win this war, ” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
