The Kremlin has set a political objective to block Ukraine’s security, economic, and other strategic contacts with Moldova, the South Caucasus, the Middle East, and the Gulf region, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated following a report by Oleh Ivashchenko, Chief of the Defence Intelligence.

According to him, Ukraine’s military intelligence managed to obtain new classified materials from Russian agencies. The documents directly concern Kyiv’s relations with partners in these regions.

«We know that one of the key Russian political objectives is to restrict our security, economic, and other strategic ties with the respective countries,» the president said.
At the same time, he stressed that such Kremlin plans only validate the actions of Ukraine and its allies.

«We believe that by doing this, Russia only confirms that we in Ukraine and our partners are moving in the right direction toward greater security and the further development of our sovereignty, as well as the complete neutralization of Russian influence,» Zelenskyy concluded.
