The most effective way to counter Russian ballistic missiles is to strike launchers before they are fired, aviation expert Kostyantyn Kryvolap told «Kyiv 24».
«We have a unique opportunity to neutralize the threat by destroying Russian missiles before launch—directly at positions, intermediate storage sites, or manufacturing plants, ” Kryvolap explained.
He also underlined the importance of developing Ukraine’s own missile capability.
«The deployment of our own 300 km-range ballistic missiles will create the first truly effective shield against enemy systems, ” he added.
Kryvolap noted that destroying launchers at the preparation stage is far more dependable than intercepting missiles post-launch. He said this strategy reduces risks to Ukrainian territory while effectively protecting civilians and critical infrastructure.
