Long-range missiles against bombers: Expert explains how to neutralize Russian aviation complexes

Long-range weapons must play a pivotal role in countering Russia’s missile-bomb complexes.
Hennadiy Khazan, President of the All-Ukrainian Aviation Organisation «Association of Private Pilots and Aircraft Owners, ” said this on 24 Kanal.
The expert outlined two principal strategies to counter Russian missile-bomb complexes. According to him, the first and most important approach is to fight the carrier aircraft. Khazan believes that to prevent the use of these systems it is necessary to strike Russian bombers at ranges of 140–160 km. Such a radius would push them well away from the frontline and reduce the threat.
The second strategy, in the expert’s view, is to improve means for destroying ordnance already released in the air.
«You either have to destroy the aircraft before launch, or intercept/neutralise the projectiles after launch, which will significantly reduce their effectiveness, ” Hennadiy Khazan concluded.
