Russia is constantly upgrading its «Shaheds»: the latest models now fly faster and at higher altitudes — up to 4 kilometers. Their warheads have also significantly increased in weight — from 40 kg to 90 kg.

This was reported by Vadym Kushnikov, a military analyst for the Militarnyi portal, during a broadcast on Kyiv24.

«The external design hasn’t changed much if we take the original massive model as a baseline. But the internal configuration has been significantly modernized as of now, ” the expert said.

According to him, «modern Shaheds are faster, more powerful, and adapted to our defense tactics.» Initially, Russia used unreliable Iranian engines, then switched to European ones (before sanctions), and is now using Chinese engines.

The expert emphasized that the new drones fly faster and higher — up to 4 km. The warhead has doubled — from 40 to 90 kg.

The most dangerous aspect, the expert highlights, is the upgraded guidance system: Russia is now using 8-channel CRP antennas of Chinese and Russian production.
