Consequences of Russian Missile Strikes are Devastating: Kozytskyi Explains When the Destroyed Facilities Can Be Restored

Lviv Region is recovering after powerful Russian missile strikes.

After the Russian missile strikes against Lviv Region's critical infrastructure, it will take at least 8-12 months to fully restore the region's energy facilities, the Head of the Regional Military Administration Maxim Kozytskyi, says.

According to him, two of the three strikes yesterday targeted previously damaged facilities. All three attacked facilities in the Region sustained serious damage as a result of the bombing.

"The consequences of the yesterday missile strikes against the Lviv Region are even worse than those in October, because two of the three yesterday strikes targeted critical energy infrastructure facilities damaged in the previous bombings. All three facilities sustained critical damage. It would take at least 8-12 months to fully resume the operation of power facilities in our region to pre-war level," Kozytskyi says.

According to the official, the power engineers worked all night long to resume power supply. Currently, power supply is resumed for 95% of consumers in Lviv Region.

"Since I strongly ask each and every consumer to be mindful of their power consumption, because we are using temporary circuits to supply electricity. Now only 30% of consumers in our region can simultaneously use electricity. The emergency repair services are working to increase this figure as much as possible," the Head of Regional Military Administration said.

According to Kozytskyi, now Ukrenerho has introduced hourly and emergency blackout schedules, so some residents of the region may experience power outages.

He also added that all substations in Lviv Region have been equipped with additional protective screens, and the authorities have prepared more special vehicles with loudspeakers, thanks to which locals can hear the alarms if there is no power supply to electric public announcement system.
