Reaction from the Office of the President on the attack

Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, wrote online that the Russians continue their terror tactics:

"They have stockpiled missiles for strikes on Ukrainian infrastructure, for war against civilians during the cold, throughout the winter. They were assisted by their insane allies, including from North Korea. Now the Russians are carrying out a combined attack on the country. They are even fighting against children. Ukraine has plenty to respond with."

Zelenskyy comments on the Russian attack

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that by morning, he had already received reports from the commander of the Air Forces, the ministers of internal affairs, and energy regarding the aftermath of the Russian strike.

"The target is our energy sector. In total, about 100 strike drones and over 90 missiles of different types. In several regions, hits were recorded with "Kalibr" missiles containing cluster munitions, targeting civilian infrastructure. These cluster parts significantly complicate the efforts of our rescuers and energy workers to eliminate the aftermath of the strike, and this is a very insidious escalation of Russia’s terrorist tactics," the President emphasized.

Required forces are involved in all areas where necessary. Energy workers and all services are working as hard as possible "to return normal life." "Points of Invincibility" have been set up.

"Every such attack proves that air defense systems are now needed in Ukraine, where they save lives. Not in storage bases. This is especially important in winter, when we need to protect our infrastructure from targeted Russian strikes. We are constantly working with partners to have more strength for defense, and timely delivery now and full implementation of agreements, particularly regarding air defense, is what is most needed," Zelenskyy stressed.
