The Presidential Office of Ukraine has assessed the likelihood of a new offensive from Belarusian territory. In an interview with 24 Kanal, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, Brigadier General Pavlo Palisa said that as long as a Kremlin-backed regime remains in power in Belarus, the country will continue to pose a threat to Ukraine.

«First of all, I would like to note that as long as a regime loyal to Putin remains in Belarus, we will always consider Belarus a potential threat,» Palisa stressed.
He added that Ukraine accounts for past experience dealing with Belarus right before the full-scale Russian invasion.

«We all remember the events on the eve of the full-scale invasion, when the so-called leader of Belarus stated that Belarus would never attack Ukraine. We all remember the result,» said the deputy head of the Presidential Office.
Ukraine continues to factor in possible risks from Belarus and is responding to potential threats accordingly.

«Therefore, we take this threat into account and react accordingly,» Palisa said.
