In the near future, Russia is expected to shift its approach to striking Ukraine, placing greater emphasis on drones rather than missiles.

The coming months may see a tactical change, with the focus moving from missile strikes to large-scale drone assaults.
This assessment was shared with UNIAN by Ihor Lutsenko, co-founder of the Center for Aerial Reconnaissance Support.
«I believe that in the near term, [Russia will focus] on drones. That’s my thinking. But later, unfortunately, I think the missile campaign might resume, ” Lutsenko said.
He stresses that Russia already possesses a sufficient number of drones to carry out significant attacks. If their numbers grow substantially, the situation could become critical even without missiles.
«If, say, in a year they have a thousand drones per day — nothing will be left of Ukraine, even without any missiles. It’s cheaper, it’s simpler, and it might even look more impressive, ” the expert added.
According to Lutsenko, drones are not only a more cost-effective option for Russia, but also a powerful tool for exerting both psychological and physical pressure on Ukrainian infrastructure.
