Russia strikes major regional center, hits heating network (photos)

Russia struck Zaporizhzhia after a ballistic threat warning was issued. A heating network, a kindergarten and residential buildings were damaged.

Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia. Ahead of the attack, a ballistic missile threat had been announced in the region, and the movement of a hostile strike UAV toward the city’s international airport was recorded, said Ivan Fedorov, Head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

Official channels had warned of possible strikes on Zaporizhzhia region. Explosions rocked the city shortly afterwards.

A kindergarten building was affected as well, with windows blown out and premises on its grounds sustained damage.

No casualties were reported — children and staff were in a shelter during the air raid alert.

Nearby apartment buildings sustained damage. Emergency services are working at the site, and the extent of the damage is being clarified.
