Deliveries of satellite internet terminals to Russian forces have been recorded on the front line, Defense Ministry adviser Serhii «Flash» Beskrestnov reported.

He said that several high-speed satellite internet providers operate in Russia using Yamal and Express series satellites. These systems are believed to be in active use by the occupying forces.

The expert identified key indicators by which such terminals can be recognized in the combat zone.

In particular, all antennas of these systems resemble conventional television satellite dishes, with diameters between 60 and 120 cm. They can be either circular or oval.

Another key feature is the direction of installation. The dishes are always oriented toward the southeast or south, within an azimuth of 110–180°.

Moreover, the antennas remain visually exposed: using protective covers like those employed in Starlink systems at these frequencies hinders the equipment’s operation.

According to «Flash, ” a terminal may be placed not directly on the front line but deeper behind it. Connections with combat units in such cases are provided via Wi‑Fi bridges.

«Flash» stresses that these features should be considered when identifying and countering enemy communication devices.
