"That was Putin's original plan": NSDC reveals the true purpose behind "peaceful" statements

The Kremlin is not interested in peace.

Russia rejected the idea of an immediate ceasefire proposed by the United States, thereby giving itself the opportunity to continue offensive operations.

This was stated by Lieutenant Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

"Russia simply bought time to carry out offensive actions. Russian war correspondents are now writing that they’ve been given permission to "fight until victory." They’re not even hiding their original intentions — just to keep fighting," Kovalenko noted.

According to him, this was a planned tactic by the Kremlin — to imitate readiness for negotiations in order to buy time and regroup.

"This was Putin's original plan. Ukraine understood this perfectly and was willing to stop the war back in March, but Putin was not," the head of the Center for Countering Disinformation said.

Kovalenko also reminds that such actions are nothing new for the Kremlin:

"Without pressure, Putin will simply continue killing. Words mean nothing to him. He has always manipulated to buy time — it’s been that way since 2014.
